Morphé Aquatiqué is an interdisciplinary real-time performance that integrates live electroacoustic music with parametric and generative visual art. The music, comprising electronics and viola, was composed and performed by Deniz Çağlarcan, whose live viola performance is augmented by interactive electronics. The visual system was developed by media artists Iason Paterakis and Nefeli Manoudaki.
The piece incorporates a motion-sensitive ring and a pressure-sensitive MIDI foot pedal, allowing the performer to shape both the music and visuals simultaneously. These sensors modulate the electronic music and the sound of the viola in real time and transmit data via OSC to alter the visual environment as well. The visuals, created using dynamic point cloud techniques, respond fluidly to the performer’s gestures and pressure inputs, resulting in an immersive, responsive audiovisual experience. In performance, the visuals are projection-mapped onto two buildings simultaneously, further expanding the spatial and architectural dimensions of the work.
