MAHAL
Mahal, Müze Evliyagil için gerçekleştirilen mekâna özgü bir ses projesidir. İçinde performans, ses yerleştirmesi gibi öğeler barındırıyor olsa da, özünde dinleyiciye kolektif bir ses deneyimi sunmayı amaçlar. Yedi bestecinin beraber oluşturduğu bir zemin üzerinde şekillenen eserler, eşzamanlı olarak müzenin içinde diğer sanat eserleri gibi kendilerine ait olan mekânları kaplar. Her bir eser diğerinin alanına müdahalede bulunarak, onun içine nüfuz eder. Sesin kaçınılmaz sınır tanımayışı, proje için bir engel teşkil etmek yerine, ortak bir çıkış noktası olmuştur. Bir saat boyunca mekânın her noktasına nüfuz eden, dışına taşan bu kolektif ses dünyası, mekânın bugüne kadar oluşturduğu hafızaya yeni bir katman eklemeyi amaçlar. Bir konserin aksine, Mahal’in deneyimlenmesi için ideal bir alan bulunmamaktadır. Müzenin her yerine yayılan seslerin bir bütün olarak algılanmasının imkansızlığı, dinleyicileri kendi rotalarını çizmeye teşvik edip; özgün ve öznel bir deneyime yönlendirir.
Mahal is conceived as a site specific sound project for Müze Evliyagil. Even though it contains diverse elements such as musical performance and sound installation, it aims to provide the audience with a collective sound experience. Works, that are formed upon a conceptual basis thought out by seven composers, occupy their own spaces simultaneously in a similar fashion that art objects are placed in a museum. Each work penetrates into the other by interfering with the space of the other. The impossibility of containing sound in a closed space, became a common starting point rather than an obstacle for the project. For a good hour, this collective sound world that penetrates every corner inside and spills outside, aims to add a new layer to the memory that the space has created up to now. Unlike a musical concert, Mahal does not require any ideal position to experience. The impossibility of perceiving sounds of Mahal as a whole, encourages listeners to draw their own individual paths, ultimately offering them a unique and subjective experience.

Ses her zaman içinde bulunduğu mekânda akseder. San Francisco’da bulunan, dalgaların aktive ettiği ses heykeli Wave Organ‘ın ardındaki fikirden yola çıkarak, aynı ses kaynağının birden fazla mekânın içinde eşzamanlı olarak yansıması, Flux‘un dünyasını oluşturur. Eser boyunca, dinleyiciler bestecinin Wave Organ ile olan etkileşimi sonucu ortaya çıkan, mekânlar arası daimi bir akışı deneyim etme imkanı bulacaklardır.
Based on the idea behind the Wave Organ, the wave-activated sound sculpture in San Francisco, the simultaneous reflection of the same sound source in multiple spaces form the sound world Flux. Throughout the work, listeners will have the opportunity to experience a continuous flow between spaces, resulting from the interaction of the composer with the Wave Organ.
